The CurlManitoba Development Fund was created to grant clubs money to assist in the development of curling within their community.
Development Fund Grants will be approved on the basis of the need to develop and promote the sport in your curling club/community. The club’s planned utilization of this grant will be a primary factor in the approval. A major consideration will be financial need (the need to go ahead with the project in order to ensure the survival of the club) and the potential for the growth of the sport in the community. Applications will be assessed on their merit as a Development Project.
Grants will be considered for any project the club considers critical. This could include projects such as funding of the purchase of refrigeration equipment, ice scraper or other equipment fundamental to the operation of a curling club. This could also include the creation/implementation of a program to grow the sport within the club/community. Grants may also be considered for structural repairs of physical improvements to the buildings.
Clubs applying for Development Fund Grants will be expected to show how the club/community will be enhanced by the project.
This fund will provide Grants of up to $10,000.00 per club on a matching basis,
Approval Process:
A Board of Directors appointed by CurlManitoba, known as the MCA Development Fund Directors will manage the MCA Development Fund granting process. Applications will be accepted throughout the year, with a deadline of Monday, May 2, 2011. Based on the number of applications received in any one granting period, the Board of Directors of the MCA Development Fund will have the authority to approve or reject any application or to approve a grant for a portion of the amount requested.
Availability of grants:
The MCA Development Fund Directors will operate under the following guidelines established by CurlManitoba
