 Posted 2009-11-16Team Shauna Streich (Fort Rouge) and Team Karen Porritt (Wildewood) have both qualified to the 2010 Scotties Tournament of Hearts Provincial Championship by earning berths through the Scotties Berth Bonspiel held at the Morden and Manitou Curling Clubs.
Streich earned her way into the Provincials by defeating Lisa Blixhavn (Brandon CC) 8-3 in the first semi-final while Porritt got by Barb Spencer (Fort Rouge) 8-7 in the other semi-final. Streich won her quarter-final matchup by defeating Derna Hirtz (Fort Rouge) 10-3 while Porritt downed Janet Harvey (Assiniboine Memorial) 4-3 in her quarter-final.
Team Streich is made up of Skip Shauna Streich, Third Karen Klein, Second Lesle Cafferty, and Lead Susan McCambridge.
Team Porritt consits of Skip Karen Porritt, Third Calleen Neufeld, Second Lisa Derivier, and Lead Jolene Rutter.
The 2010 Scotties Tournament of Hearts will be held at the Shamrock Centre in Killarney, January 6-10. |
