 Posted 2009-11-19Team Wayne Ewasko (Heather) defeated Kelly Robertson (Neepawa) 9-5 in the final of the Safeway Northern Berth Bonspiel held at The Pas Curling Club. By winning the Safeway Northern Berth Bonspiel, Team Ewasko has earned a spot in the Provincial Men's Safeway Championship, February 10-14 2009 in Steinbach.
Team Ewasko advanced to the finals by beating Team Greg Todoruk (Dauphin) 11-7 while Robertson won their semi-final 8-3 over Team Kelly Marnoch (Carberry).
Team Ewasko is made up of Skip Wayne Ewasko, Third Randal Thomas, Second Dave Beaudoin and Lead Dallas Senebald.
The Ewasko foursome becomes the fourth team to qualify for the Steinbach Safeway Championship, joining defending champion Jeff Stoughton, CTRS berth recipient Mike McEwen and the Southern Berth recipient David Bohn.
